Guild Rules
General Behaviour & Respect
• We expect all guild members to treat each other with respect.
• Members will abide by Blizzard’s code of conduct.
• Members will treat other WoW players in a manner that gives a good impression of Dark Fire.
• Members will refrain from using offensive language/behaviour in Guild Chat. (i.e. racism, sexism, excessive bad language, TYPING ENTIRELY IN CAPS, extremist religious or political views etc)
Talent Builds / Main Switches
• Members are free to make changes to their main-spec/off-spec to attempt to maximise their in-game performance as long as this does not mean changing role. E.g. Healers are free to change points around within their spec but are not free to change their primary spec to DPS without consulting the Guild Master / officer team.
• Members are permitted to have a first and second character in the guild that they may raid on; to allow flexibility. In general, however, main switches are not allowed without express permission. The guild spends a lot of time gearing characters to perform within their selected role. If members wish to change their main (first) or second character, members must get permission from the GM.
Guild Absence
• Members must notify a member of the officer team and/or make a post on the guild forums if they are to be offline or unable to raid for over a week.
• Members offline for over a fortnight without any prior notice or good reason will be demoted to Retired.
• Retired members offline for over a month without prior notice or good reason may be removed from the guild.
Alts
• While play on alts is encouraged to learn about other classes, it is expected that members will be available on their main characters for raids and guild events. Members may sign their second characters if they wish, but the Raid Selection Officer will select the player's first or second character that is most appropriate for the raid composition on a given evening.
Offences & Penalties
Unfortunately, at times there may be the need for officers to enforce guild rules. Hopefully, these issues will be very rare but they will be at the discretion of the officer team and will be dealt with in a fair and consistent manner to ensure the enjoyment of all guild members.
Offences may mean demotion for a period of time and therefore removal of rights that are associated with rank (guild bank, loot distribution etc). This will be decided by the officer team.
Breaking guild rules and the following offences may incur a penalty:
• Applying to other guilds.
• Signing for raids and not showing up without a valid reason (officer discretion).
• Regularly being late for raids to which you have signed up.
• Arguing with Raid Leaders.
• Purposely not following tactics.
• Unauthorized afks/brbs.
• Offensive Behaviour.
Persistent offences or extreme cases may result in members being removed from the guild.
Raiding (please also see Raid Selection Policy)
Before the Raid
• All formal guild raids will be scheduled via the in-game calendar.
• Players are not permitted to PUG raids that are scheduled in the in-game calendar.
• Raids will be scheduled every Sunday, members are asked to accept / decline raids as soon as they know their personal schedule. It is much easier to ensure a fair distribution of raiding opportunities, and to plan for raids when members sign in advance. If possible, please aim to be accepted/declined for a raid on the night before it is scheduled. Please use 'tentative' to mean "I will probably be online, but cannot be sure"; if you will probably be offline - just decline. Sometimes it can be very difficult to organise raid teams if people sign only a short time before the raid begins.
• Priority will not be given to any rank for inclusion within a raid, but please see the Raid Selection Policy for selection with respect to casual and regular raiders.
• Raiders are requested to be online 15 minutes before the raid is scheduled to start. When invites will begin.
• If members have accepted a raid and need to then decline, please let the Raid Selection Officer know as soon as possible.
• Raiders must have access to mumble, with a working microphone set to “Push to Talk”.
• All raiders gear must be enchanted and gemmed with appropriate gems.
• All gear should be repaired prior to the start of the raid and raiders should ensure they have adequate gold to repair their gear during the raid.
• All raiders should have read tactics or seen videos for all boss encounters for that specific raid.
• Raiders should research boss drops to ensure that they know what they will be rolling on and therefore speed up the looting process.
During the Raid
• Raiders are to follow all instructions given by the Raid Leader.
• Raiders are not to argue with Raid Leader tactics. Alternative strategies can be discussed outside of the Raid.
• Chat / Vent should be kept clear during briefings and boss fights.
• Raiders are requested not to spam General channels during raids.
• Raiders must not afk or brb during the raid without Raid Leader permission.
• Raiders should ask for a break should this not be offered by the Raid Leader.
• Disconnections should be announced on Mumblet.
• Players should try to identify themselves on Mumble, as not everyone can recognise voices. (e.g. “[name] needs a heal” is better than “I need a heal”)
• All raid members should attempt to ensure that they are not ahead of tanks in threat at all times.
Loot (Please also see EPGP Rules)
• Loot will be distributed via EPGP.
• Loot is distributed on a priority system based upon the PR rating of a character shown by EPGP. PLEASE NOTE that there is no priority given between first and second raiders, but that first and second raiders always have priority over additional alts.
• Characters with any officer, veteran, or raider rank get priority over those of other ranks (e.g. Member, Alt, Recruit).
• Main-spec takes priority over off-spec; off-spec allocation is usually made according to a roll, but may be allocated according to the needs of the guild and the regularity of the 'off-spec use'. This is at officer discretion.
• Bind on Equip loot that drops in raids will be assigned by main spec only. If not required by any character for main spec it will go to the GB.
Loot in the Guild Bank
• Bind on Equip loot that is not required for the main spec of a main raider will be stored in the GB.
• Players are asked to check the GB for loot on Sunday evenings, players must express interest on the guild website by the following Friday (i.e. within 5 days).
• BoE gear will be given to any player who needs it according to the following priority: Main raiders (for main spec) can have the loot for GP cost only (highest PR rating will get priority) or for half GP and half cash (i.e. 25% of AH price). Off spec and Alt raiders can have the loot for cash. The cost will usually be approximately 50% of the current AH price, although it may be possible to pay part cash & part GP, at the Banker's discretion (this will only be allowed in the Guild's best interest).
• If no player wishes to purchase loot, the loot will be sold on the AH on Friday evening/Saturday mornings.
• Mats to make top-level gear (essence of destruction etc.) will also be stored in the GB. The Banker will commission the crafting of gear when sufficient mats are available, and will assign the gear according to the current PR ratings. Tanks and Healers will normally get priority for crafted gear. Players may be expected to pay any additional costs (for mats not provided by the GB), and also pay GP for the item as per the EPGP system.
Raid Addons
• Members are expected to have the following four addons installed and up to date:
EPGP; Deadly Boss Mods; Omen Threat Meter; GTFO.
